The Dutchie is the bar that started it all for Rogue’s Roost. For the first decade of Rogue’s existence, “Cobbler” Reck only made his legendary pretzel-peanut chocolate fudge for the fine folks of Hanover, PA, but in 1936, he went for the big-time with his first large-scale production candy bar, The Dutchie.
But I suppose it’s not totally accurate to call it a bar, per se. The Dutchie starts with a round patty of Cobbler’s pretzel-peanut chocolate fudge. It is then covered with a layer of chewy nougat and a thin layer of smooth, rich caramel, the good kind that pulls away with each bite and leaves a tiny strand of deliciousness on your bottom lip, letting the whole world know that you…love…candy, and you’re not afraid to show it!
Okay, so we get a little worked up about candy here at Rogue’s Roost. Forgive us.
Finally, The Dutchie is enrobed in rich dark chocolate, creating the perfect balance of textures and flavors. I command you to try one. Right now. Go.
Aren't noogies what my older brother used to give me?
Well, yes and no. In the spirit of the good old fashioned, congenial dutch rubs your brother used to give you, Noogies are meant to be shared. Or hoarded like an evil dictator. I guess it depends on how much you like your brother.
Rogue’s Roost’s Noogies are mind-splittingly mouthwatering treats: bite-sized morsels of “Cobbler’s” famous pretzel-peanut chocolate fudge with a colorful candy coating. In red, blue, yellow, and green, we’ll let you decide if you let your brother have any.
I’m sold. Where can I get me some Rogue’s Roost Candy already???
Glad you asked. Our fine products can currently be found in local, independent groceries and markets throughout Central Pennsylvania and Maryland. You can also get the kids in the car and come on over to check out the factory and buy them right off the line in our factory store in Hanover. (You can leave the kids at home, if you like, too—we won’t tell them.) Or you can buy them directly from our website, www.thedutchie.weebly.com.
If you don’t see them in your local grocery store, bug the manager until you do!
